Plug the male end into the B2 and the female end into the USB3 device. Take it out the box, plug it into the mains, plug it into your network, and you're ready to start feeding it CDs that will be ripped to FLAC. Purchase short USB2 to USB2 extension tails 'A male to A female' and they must be USB2. If you're looking to bypass PCs as the Brennan does, the Innuos Zen Mini (1TB) is a great place to start.

If you plug the USB3 device fully in to the B2's USB port, then ease the USB connect back out by about 0.5mm then the B2 reports that the device is connected.Ģ. If this is occurring on your B2 then there are two solutions to this problem.ġ. Another check is to see if there is a USB B port present. If you see a blue inset then the port is fully compatible. I think that a way of telling is if you look into the B2's USB port and see a white plastic insert then you are likely to have the problem. There is a slight compatibility issue with earlier model B2s where the USB ports sometimes don't work with USB3 devices. Why does it take so many times of running through the same routine to find the back up drive? Michael After a few tries (4 or 5 ) I have eventually found the B2 finds the drive on port C. I have tried switching the B2 again using the same routine mentioned above but with the same result. If it doesn't find the drive the LDC starts showing the number of tracks, albums & artists etc etc. Looking at the LDC screen if the B2 finds the drive on port C it starts reading it. Attached the backup hard drive, waited for 2 or 3 minutes before switch the electrical power back on. I have switched off the electrical power via an inline switch. I have shut the B2 using the Play/Stop switch on the front of the B2 itself and after it has indicated it is saving in the LCD cycle has finished ir showing the date etc. Just recently I have had difficulty in my B2 finding my Back up hard drive after I have attached it to the C port.
